Uklon is a ride-hailing service, and its discounts differ from a shop's for one important reason: the price is not fixed in advance. An item in a basket has a set price; a ride costs something different every time, depending on distance, time of day and demand. A percentage discount is calculated against that moving number.
There are currently 3 active offers on the Uklon page.
How to enter a promocode
- Install the app and register. The promocode field only opens after registration, because the offer attaches to an account.
- Open your profile or the discounts section. In Uklon the code goes into a separate field there, not on the ride-request screen — this is the single most common confusion.
- Paste the code. Do not retype it: codes mix letters and digits, and one mistake invalidates the whole thing.
- Check the price before requesting. With the code active, the estimate shows the discounted price. If the number has not moved, the code did not apply.
How a percentage discount is calculated
The key point: a percentage discount almost always carries an upper cap. An offer worded "up to X percent" gives X percent, but never more than a set amount.
In practice that means you get the advertised percentage in full on a short ride, while on a long one your real percentage falls, because the discount hits the cap. So a percentage code is usually worth more on a short trip — a general rule for any service with a floating price.
The second point: fares rise when demand is high. The discount is calculated on the raised fare, but the cap does not move — so at peak times the discount matters less, not more.
Conditions to check
- First ride. Many offers are for new users only and are tied to a phone number. Reinstalling the app does not reset that.
- The discount cap. Alongside the percentage there is a maximum amount; both are stated in the terms.
- Tariff class. Offers often apply to a particular tariff. Choose a higher class of car and the code may not pass.
- City. Uklon operates in several cities and promotions differ between them.
- Window for use. Once activated, a code sometimes has to be used within a limited period.
Why the code did not work
- It went in the wrong place. The profile field, not the ride-request screen.
- The account is not new. The first-ride condition is tied to the number, and a new account breaks the rules.
- The tariff does not qualify. Try a different one — that is often all it takes.
- Another promotion is active. One discount per ride, and the app may have chosen the automatic one.
What a fare is made of
Working out a discount properly means knowing how the price is assembled. It usually has four parts: a base charge, a distance charge, a time-in-traffic charge, and a demand multiplier. The last one moves the most — it rises morning and evening, in bad weather, and on holidays.
A promocode does not see those parts separately; it applies to the final figure. So when the multiplier is high the discount looks large, but the cap holds it back. For the same reason a cheap ride at a quiet hour gets the most out of a discount.
When to spend the code
If you only have one code, it is worth choosing where to spend it. For a percentage code the rule is simple: divide the cap by the percentage and you get the highest fare at which the code still works in full. Above that price your real percentage starts falling.
A fixed-amount code behaves the opposite way: as a percentage it is worth more the cheaper the ride. So with two different codes in hand, save the fixed one for a short trip and the percentage one for a medium trip.
Saving without a code
Uklon's own mechanics work without a code and occasionally give more. When demand is low the fare is lower by itself, so waiting a few minutes can beat a discount taken at peak time. The app's loyalty programme also accrues points on rides.
These rarely stack with a promocode — the app picks one. So activate the code before requesting and look at the estimate both ways.
On the Uklon page at PromoBozor every offer shows its conditions and the date it was last checked, so you can tell in advance whether a code suits your trip.
